One Salesforce organization for a book publisher's eight databases and CRM
8production databases combined
+1HubSpot CRM brought in alongside them
1cohesive Salesforce organization
The challenge
A book publisher ran its business across eight separate production databases and a HubSpot CRM. Information about authors, manuscripts and books lived in different places, which made it hard to see the full picture of an author or a title from first contact through publication.
The goal
One system that supports every stage of the publishing process: acquisition, author onboarding, editing, design, production and publicity.
What we built
We designed the architecture for a single Salesforce organization that brings together the data from all eight production databases and HubSpot.
- One data model. We mapped the data in each source to a shared model in Salesforce, so an author or a book is one record, not nine.
- Every source connected. Each production database and the HubSpot CRM feeds the Salesforce organization.
- One place to work. Sales, publication coordinators, production and publicity teams work from the same records.
